“What really excites me is having the opportunity to work with people who are better at what they do than I am. I always try to surround myself with brilliant people.” From an early age, Tom Cruise showed exceptional energy and determination. Despite having a special talent for sports, at the age of 14 he enrolled in a seminary with the intention of becoming a priest, but within months he abandoned this vocation and, after a teacher's suggestion, joined a school play, which sparked his passion for acting. After several small roles, his big break came when he was selected to work with Francis Ford Coppola in The Outsiders, a film that brought together future Hollywood icons such as Matt Dillon and Patrick Swayze. That same year, at the age of 21, he achieved worldwide fame when he played his famous role in Risky Business. From that moment on, Cruise's career took off, establishing himself as one of the most successful actors of his generation. Throughout his career, Cruise has been recognized with multiple awards and nominations, including two Golden Globes and an Oscar nomination for his performance in Jerry Maguire. He has worked with some of Hollywood's most influential directors, such as Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese and Ridley Scott, and has been a producer on several of the films in which he has participated, showing his growing influence in the film industry. One of the most notable features of his career is his dedication to performing his own stunts, most notably his work on the blockbuster Mission: Impossible saga.
