Initially a boxer and physics student, Neeson shifted to drama, joining Belfast’s Lyric Players Theatre in 1976 and later the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. His film career began with a role in Christiana (1979), and he gained recognition with Excalibur (1981) and other supporting roles. Neeson’s breakthrough came with Schindler’s List (1993), earning him an Academy Award nomination. He continued to build a diverse career with notable roles in Rob Roy (1995), Michael Collins (1996), and Star Wars: Episode I—The Phantom Menace (1999). In the 2000s, Neeson showcased versatility in films such as Gangs of New York (2002), Love Actually (2003), and Taken (2008), which led to successful sequels. He also voiced Aslan in The Chronicles of Narnia series and appeared in Clash of the Titans (2010) and its sequel.
