What Should've Won the Oscar: 2004

I've tried to post this three times and the site keeps crashing on me… Fourth times a charm? Posting in instalments seems to work. I guess 23 film cards is the max? I dunno… Anyways!

My Two Cents

There are so many film cards because there are so many good movies! I didn't even get to include Troy and I, Robot, although I want to. Hard to choose. The Aviator is an underrated Scorsese classic. Ray set the standard for music biopics in the 21st century. Eternal Sunshine becomes more important and more relevant every year. Maybe the best Harry Potter movie in Azkaban. And Downfall is taught in schools as history rather than just a movie — few films get that honour. And we got two short films from directors that would go on to have major careers: Andrea Arnold and Taika Waititi. But if I chose Best Picture, I'd have to go with Eternal Sunshine.

Your Pick

Let me know in the comments what movie you would have picked for Best Picture of 2004 and don't forget to tell me why!

the winner should've been either Anchorman or Kung Fu Hustle...

The Aviator is undeniably great. And maybe this is toxic of me but I LOVE the movie Closer

Super Size Me changed my life. But for Best Picture, I'd choose either The Aviator or Downfall.
