Bella's Depression Is My Sweater Weather
Fan FictionThe Sweater Weather challenge is out and what better movie than New Moon? Don't believe me, check out the screenplay below!
Summary: Wilma decides that there is no autumn without Bella.
Inspiration:
New Moon Screenplay
Reflection:
New Moon brings all the autumn vibes, from actual fall scenes to the gloomy, colourful backdrop of Forks. There is something particularly, for a lack of better words, hot chocolate-y about the narrative. Maybe it's the fact that literally nothing happens in the movie, or the book, for that matter. Maybe it's Bella's grief that imitates leaves decaying (if you wanna get poetic about it). Even the songs, like Possibility by Lykke Li, or Roslyn by Bon Iver feel perfect for a gloomy autumn day playlist.
Imagine yourself in the car, the songs playing in the background as you drive down leafy paths just before the sun sets. How much more autumn can we get?
Last Random Thoughts:
Also, can we please talk about 90% of the dialogue in both the book and movie? I mean, within the first five pages, we have both of them admitting the age gap, and like none of them actually see the issue with it. Edward actually goes, “Bella, I'm ninety" as a rationale against her “aging” (her words, not mine); when I first read it, I didn't even bat an eye. Now, I am so confused with what I'd consumed as a young teenager. Is this, possibly, the worst age-gap romance?
I also really wanted to write a scene when Edward gets all sacrificial-y, but then thought it might be overkill. Anyone want to help me out and write that?
Anyways, I kind of want this little script to come to life. What about you?

It pains me to say this, however, I am unable to post this post unless I post at least five-hundred (500) words. Please take this time to consider the various and diverse pieces I've written over the month. There are so many categories and forms and styles that I have written in that I think would be enlightening to discover.

“Before you, Bella, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars, points of light and reason. ...And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason, for anything.” - Edward, New Moon
