She was an on and off companion of Dudley More and had $5 million lavished on her by tv supremo Fred Silverman with the hope that she would become a screen sensation of the 80's but she didn't. The 6 foot blonde beauty queen turned actress was spotted on a chat show going on about her grandfather's apple orchard. Fred said to get her and he'd make her a star. $5 million later she had failed to stun the audiences with her singing, and dancing, her bright patter, her satirical comedy series, her film Goldengirl and the record she made to go with it, she was a celebrity but hardly a star and it was Silverman who was stunned. She'd trained 5 hours a day with an Olympic coach and had to realisticly run 100, 200 and 400 metre races. She'd come from the small town of Yucapi near Palm Springs and baulked at doing the nude scenes originally written for Goldengirl so out came the nude scenes and in went wholesomeness but it didn't matter as it didn't make her a Goldengirl. Her disappointments were soothed by Sylvester Stalone away from his wife. Marriage was hinted at but both were still married and a few weeks later it was all over and soon she had another suiter in Dudley Moore. As at 1984 she spent weekends with him when she wasn't touring in her one woman show or spending time at her apple ranch with her parents and her brothers and sisters of which she's the oldest of five.
