The beginning of the movie gives the impression that it will be a refreshing movie. The director shows the most intense feelings instead in a subtle way by narrating them, which somehow fits the characterization of this writer's screwed up, sensitive and egotistical character. The beginning and the end can be described as perfect, and the middle section distributes the plot in a staggering manner. The moving moments are so timeless. It's my favorite film I've seen in a while!

The imaginative power of literary narrative is implanted into the movie narrative very skillfully and appropriately, resulting in the beauty of lightness and agility. The vision of “the red sky” is not present in the entire movie, creating a holistic imagery. Imagination unveils the truth of life that has been obscured; the truth is full of the mysterious life force that transcends fiction and is full of the art of possibility.

It’s about the male perspective of conceited love and contradictory self, and he looks so light but so unfree. The sound overlay at the end makes me feel the difference between the narrative portrayal of the two forms of images and words. What a script. It looks like an emotional sketch, but it talks about the unbearable "insignificance" and all the emotional debris is sunk by the fire.

Lighthearted and sarcastic, romantic and heartfelt. It's a nice little love story.

It was so boring and cliché from start to finish...I felt like I could guess what kind of story it was going to be from the first 15 minutes. All in all, the story was so shallow and contrived that I was actually a bit nauseous.

It was surprisingly less enjoyable. Petzold does not continue to refine the sensibility and poetry in the meticulousness of the text, but rather divides the thematic camps with the distant glances of several characters: Leon is bogged down, Nadja is detached from life and passionate, and Felix belongs to the power and beauty. The interplay of steps loses the spirit given by the environment in the red tape of the dialogues. The story also enters a closed-loop writing at the end, and the few possibilities that escape are re-framed into the fullness of the narrative.

There are some poetic moments and smooth transitions, but I felt so impatient with the ordinary but confident male coming-of-age story, even the final self-reflection has to be accomplished by a few other people's lives.

The camera moves between reality and imagination, with bright colors, lots of humor, talented reversals, and sudden shifts in characters’ identities, etc., which all gives the images a jumping rhythm, like a fire leaping in the night. The sets are beautiful, but the camera doesn't linger too long; the dinner table conversation is no-nonsense, with flowing, spirited eroticism and philosophical rhetoric about love; it's a relic of love in Pompeii and an Asla boy in literature. The movie is narratively efficient, and at the same time, I see myself and many others in the hero.

Me identifiquei bastante com o protagonista.
