pedroSeptember 23, 2023The acting is really touching, and the audiovisual language is good, but the overall pacing is strange and not very crisp, and some of the content design is quite slow. The script was a bit formulaic and the ending didn’t achieve the effect I was looking for.

Let's Talk About...September 22, 2023
Let's Talk About...September 22, 2023I appreciate this approach to creating something that doesn't use the issue first, but instead relies on touching the edges of one's surroundings to generate questions and doubts. There are admittedly a lot of confusing parts in the movie, but there will undoubtedly be moments that shine through. Movies need to have both qualities - sincerity from the creation, and sincerity from the creator.

thbzcrt_7September 22, 2023I loved it. It's so rare to slow down storytelling and still make a seemingly generalized topic so moving and sincere. The movie starts from a child's world, and it's ultimately the adults who can't reconcile; the hilarity of the gender perspective is still so brutal when placed on an individual. People can't let go of the norms and concepts of the paradigm they're in, not realizing that children teach us how to let go of ourselves every day.

If there can be 20,000 kinds of bees in the world, why can't there be one more possibility in life? When the brother shouted "Lucia" in the forest and Lucia knocked the beekeeping box three times to complete her rebirth, the story and emotional resonance reached a climax. After watching the movie, I wondered if it is more precious to be able to ask the question "who am I" than to answer the question "who am I".

Timeae4USeptember 16, 2023It's beautifully and softly shot, and easy to empathize with. But whether the girl's self-identity crisis or the mother's career-family crisis, the characters are consistently confused and repetitive without change (except for the ending). A plot that barely progresses gradually loses one's attention. But it's fortunate that the ending is an open-ended one containing metaphors, otherwise the movie would inevitably fall into a rut.

toKoralíSeptember 16, 2023So subtle and powerful! It's so rare for this female director to be so solid in her first feature. The cut-in perspective is gentle, loving and relieving. The movie very wisely chooses not to provide answers, but to be true to the dilemmas and contradictions of the moment. The women in the family are all brilliantly portrayed.

tinaShaySeptember 16, 2023
tinaShaySeptember 16, 2023It’s a story of three generations of "women" in the shadow of patriarchy. The meeting of the child and the older woman is the closest moment to divinity. When Lucia awakens and walks away from the screams of patriarchal tradition, the shame of her body is finally accepted by all her loved ones. The emotional nuances are so moving.

Timeless Tales BWSeptember 16, 2023
Timeless Tales BWSeptember 16, 2023Standard or excellent sight and sound; the graphics are beautiful but the narrative pace is just too slow, not my type. The kids were all so good, and it was still moving when the brother called out to Lucia at the end. It felt like the struggle with gender identity wasn't shown too much; it was so restrained that it was anything but.
