Dave_BeanApril 25, 2024The trailer is better than the actual movie. It's hard to judge, but maybe the film's pacing is off. However, upon rational analysis, this is actually the first movie in the series. Although it has tension, thanks to the God-eye view perspective, overall, it's just not enjoyable. Dakota Johnson's charm is undeniable. So, the major issue might lie in the momentum of the film: the pacing is too rushed, the industrial feel is too strong, and the plot is too thin.

Roy_DouglasApril 25, 2024This movie is probably one of the worst superhero films I've seen as of April 2024. The setup is clichéd, the plot is dull, there are hardly any action scenes, and the female lead lacks depth. The teamwork among the female leads is almost nonexistent in the action scenes, and the villain is incredibly dull and ridiculous.

Abby_RyanApril 25, 2024This movie wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. However, the problem lies in the increasing expectations that audiences have for superhero movies, while the films themselves often follow a formula. Dakota Johnson does a good job of capturing the essence of Spider-Woman. As for those three teenagers, I'm not quite sure. At least in this movie, they're not very likable. But then again, this movie is just the beginning of a new series.

Ashly_LangApril 25, 2024This is about to be the calmest superhero movie they've ever made. Literally, they are being chased by a psychopath, and they just seem so calm…especially Dakota's straight face when saying every lifeless line. But still, a perfect 10 for all these beautiful ladies. The movie's trash, though.

Edward_RamosApril 25, 2024
Edward_RamosApril 25, 2024It's a bit better than I expected. It's more of a low-budget sci-fi thriller rather than your typical superhero movie. The concept is actually quite fresh, but they didn't execute it well, and it still falls into the same old clichés. The setup with the three spider women is just a gimmick. It might have been better if they stuck to the thriller genre instead of trying to fit it into the superhero category, as it doesn't quite mesh. But at least the characters are all attractive and charming.

Renata_requelApril 25, 2024This movie pretty much makes all the mistakes that films of this genre can make. The perspective keeps shifting, and neither the characters nor their relationships are appropriately focused. There's barely any storyline, with the characters who were initially together fading into the background, making it hard for the audience to connect with the main character's emotional journey. They try to explain important information through flashbacks, but it just doesn't resonate with the audience. The hero's abilities are unclear, resulting in action scenes that lack tension. The use of external threats feels excessive, and it's frustrating that there's a lack of relationship-building in the tense moments at the end.

SuperDCM+March 21, 2024
SuperDCM+March 21, 2024Indeed, the entire film is dreadfully dull. Surprisingly, the film's biggest highlight was the Columbia Pictures logo at the beginning, celebrating the studio's 100 years. Sony's superhero films take the B-movie horror route, with an even lower investment and a more clichéd story, resulting in a predictably dull experience from start to finish. The three racially diverse Spider-Women in this film don't even have superpowers; the scenes of them donning Spider-Woman costumes only exist in the protagonist's precognition glimpsed in the trailer, once again misleading the audience.

toKoralíMarch 21, 2024The multicultural population interconnected by a web-like structure serves as a metaphor for globalization. The mechanism of the protagonist's superpowers is relatively clearly explained, and everyone looks good, but that's all that is good about this movie.
The cinematography falls short, with camera work that attempts to inject "style" into the film but misses the mark aesthetically. The script feels like it barely has enough substance for a TV pilot, let alone a full-fledged film. Additionally, it's clear there's a misunderstanding in how the budget was managed. "De-superheroine" aims to rely on serious, high-caliber drama scenes, but instead, it ends up barely masking a poorly crafted and rough-around-the-edges production.
Boredom is the original sin. While not the worst superhero film, it's certainly a doomed project from its inception.

wickeremergedMarch 21, 2024This film commits nearly all the mistakes typical of this genre, including scattered perspectives, unfocused characters and relationships, weak subplots and lazy exposition through flashbacks, leaving viewers unmoved. The obscure superhero abilities not only render action scenes dull but also reduce them to meaningless jump scares throughout the film.

Let's Talk About...March 21, 2024
Let's Talk About...March 21, 2024The movie received negative reviews from the media, but I found it slightly better than expected after watching it. The film felt like a direct-to-video film with rough edges. The cinematography was the biggest flaw, with meaningless zooms and shaky camera work causing discomfort for the audience. There was even a "technical glitch" in one scene where characters frequently disrupted the frame, which is unacceptable for a Spider-Man IP spin-off produced by Sony Columbia.

o-OLAVOSeptember 26, 2024
