This was a surprise and a delight! A young woman is seen and heard having sex with a man in a very modern and quite expensive apartment, and the scene eventually shifts to a much more cosy, suburban setting for the religious event of the title...and some of the most awkward moments at a wake that I have ever seen filmed (and hey, it was more awkward than any wake I've been to). Rachel Sennott and the writer-director Emma Seligman (they both co-created 'Bottoms') should take a bow and you should experience this film about bisexuality, love, family, food (it is amazing how deeply you feel the gastronomical experience of this film), mishaps, broken hearts and the problems of being a young woman who still has not found her role.
Enjoy...and try the bagels and lox!

When I first saw it, I thought: Wait, this is a film debut?!

What an achieved insane-chaotic-dark humor... but also so angsty and claustrophobic (in a great way). With witty, fast-paced dialogue and twists and turns: it just rocks.
