When they were driving, I was thinking "please stop here". How good the ending is! And then it got shady, I cursed: Damn, it's a masterpiece!

Frances McDormand excels in everything she does, so it comes as no surprise that she could throw in some of her quirk even in the role of a grieving mother. The writing is superb and hits every emotional spot where it's supposed to hit, so that you're inside the movie almost as much as the characters are. The ending not satisfactory to those of us who are used to everything getting somehow fixed; and it's fitting, because it's not unlike life itself.
