Abbey_LesterJuly 9, 2025The director's signature restrained, and simple style is also present in this film, giving it a natural flow. Robert Bresson stands out as one of the best at using omission and repetition to highlight individual suffering, human struggles, and the absurdity of fate. The film is infused with overtones of asceticism and philosophical reflections on humanitarianism.

Aurelio_SellersJuly 9, 2025Mouchette's life is incredibly harsh: having an alcoholic and abusive father, a violent brother, a mother who died young from illness, and a brother who's still a baby... She faces all of this with resilience and silence, even finding the last bit of warmth after a brutal assault. But the ending completely shattered me. It felt like her fate was already sealed from the start.

Mas o final me abalou completamente.
