Madagascar (2005)★ 7.0/10

Talk about a snooze fest! I've never seen animals being given human-like traits in such a clumsy manner. The plot? Well, let's just say it's as dull as watching paint dry. It's basically a bunch of bored animals messing around. And don't get me started on that "cruelty" from the original "Bambi" they tried to resurrect. Disney moved past that ages ago!

Unlike Disney's previous animated films, which often focus on the spirit of rebellion, the pursuit of freedom, and the chase and fulfillment of dreams, this movie takes a different approach. It depicts that "I" already has the dreams others are chasing from the start - to be respected, cheered, and live a hero's life. Yet, "I" want to experience the life that is before those dreams are realized. It turns out that we should always cherish what we have.

Damn, this brings so much nostalgia. Watched it recently and I think it is even more funnier now that I can understand the references the small me couldn't because his operating system hasn't been updated yet.

This fun DreamWorks adventure fills us with laughter and, at the same time, it explores the encounter between the city and wild spaces. One of the greatest films of contemporary animation.

Me gustó muchooooooooooo...
