A conclusion similar to "The Mist" might have been more impactful. Nonetheless, it highlights the protagonist's choices and growth. Overall, it's a good sci-fi thriller, though the ending does feel somewhat outlandish.

When I was younger, I thought this was just another haunted hotel movie. Instead, it offers a riveting, fast-paced story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The protagonist’s calm and cunning nature during crises, combined with the constant twists and turns, makes this more than just a suspense thriller. John Goodman's character always seemed a bit too ambiguous to be purely evil. The film delivers two significant plot twists, showcasing the protagonist's resilience and turning her into a true valkyrie by the end.

Apesar disso, há uma tensão dramática óbvia com várias reviravoltas, graças à narrativa deliberadamente enganosa do diretor-roteirista e às dicas que ele dá. Ele desafia as convenções do gênero, com algumas conexões temáticas com “Cloverfield”.
