The Help is a finely crafted period drama focusing on African American women, with a well-paced narrative and standout ensemble performances. Though somewhat stereotypical, the film manages to be both appropriate and impactful.

A thoroughly engaging film where every character brims with life and passion. While Emma Stone delivers a solid performance, it's the maids and the 'bitchy' housewives who truly stand out. Both comedic and emotional moments abound, moving many amongst the audience. Lacking the charming music from the trailer was the only downside.

This film boasts an incredible lineup of talented actresses. I'm not exaggerating when I say it features one of the most remarkable casts ever assembled. Amidst numerous outstanding performances, Viola Davis shines the brightest. Her portrayal here deserves endless accolades, as she elevates every scene she graces with her presence.

A-list cast, pacing could've been much better

It starts off weak, a little slow, you start to think it's going to be the typical black vs white movie. As it progresses you stay with the characters, with their graces and flaws. Leaves you in a reflective mood. And finally a very good feeling remains in you.
Recommended.

Being a woman of color in the U.S.

A marvelously constructed film that shows us a space for expression to draw attention to the implications of being an African American woman during the Civil Rights Movement of 1963.

The story told from the oppresed side

A film that addresses the racial issues of the United States from a feminist perspective is rarely seen. "The Help" allows us to learn about one of the most affected sides of American racial segregation.

Maravilhoso por tudo o que representa. The help é explicadinho e redondinho e apesar do tema delicado é agradável de ver, feito para nos ensinar alguma lição. No mais achei que ficou um pouco datado em sua narrativa.
