The film immerses us in the origins of Arthur Curry (Aquaman), the mixed-race lighthouse keeper destined to be king of the vast underwater kingdom of Atlantis. His journey from outcast to leader leads him to confront his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson), who seeks to unite the aquatic kingdoms and wage war on the surface world. Accompanied by the determined Merra, better known as the beautiful and cute Actrees (Amber Heard), Arthur must find the Trident of Atlantis, a legendary artifact that could prove his right to the throne.

What truly sets "Aquaman" apart is its stunning visuals and production design. The kingdom of Atlantis is recreated with astonishing magnificence, filled with bioluminescent cities, giant sea creatures, and futuristic technology that looks like something straight out of the most vibrant science fiction novel. The underwater battles are chaotic and spectacular. Excellent production, with a bit of laughter, fun battles, and romance :)

The film features rich visuals and an interesting setting, but the plot lacks originality, especially if you've seen "Black Panther" before. The storyline is predictable. The romantic subplot feels like a cheesy teen drama.

A visual feast, "Aquaman" offers a plethora of stunning special effects and breathtaking underwater scenes. The humor is well-balanced, and James Wan's direction is incredibly precise.

The abundance of underwater scenes in this movie went beyond my expectations and delivered exactly what I'd hope for in a film centered around an oceanic hero—I was thoroughly impressed. Directed by James Wan, this DC movie has moved away from the dark tone, presenting a gripping and well-rounded plot that's just as captivating as his horror films. The legend of Atlantis and Arthur is integrated into the superhero storyline seamlessly, and the leading lady's appearance is stunning. The portrayal of decades of lighthouse guardianship really brought tears to my eyes—after all, isn't love all about selflessness and devotion? For me, this is the best DC theatrical release since "The Dark Knight”.

Despite lowering my expectations beforehand, the movie left me feeling empty. I don't believe that a few formulaic big-scale scenes and a grand world-building are sufficient to give a movie that epic feel. For me, "Aquaman" comes across as a blend of "Black Panther" and “Thor,” but it lacks character development and fails to present certain key messages in interesting ways. The storytelling falls into clichés, with the three storylines each doing their own thing. I want to clarify that while I'm a fan of “Batman”, as well as Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" for their exploration of human struggles and conflicts, "Aquaman" didn't deliver that depth. Superhero movies in the 21st century need more than just visual spectacles.

James Wan is truly impressive. I initially expected this to be the dullest film in the series, especially with all the underwater scenes, but James Wan managed to make it a fantastic film, demonstrating his expertise in pacing and managing large-scale sequences. Additionally, he injected a lot of his own style into some details, which I found really funny. Overall, it's enjoyable, but a bit lengthy for my taste. The mesmerizing underwater world, while captivating, can give some visual fatigue after a while.

The heroe of the seven seas

This movie allows us to get a first look at the lost city of Atlantis, home to heroe Aquaman. The underwater special effects were perfectly achieved and made of this a unique movie.
