Adapting the original story I wrote, which made it through to this second stage, I decided to focus on the elements surrounding the inner, psychological world of the protagonist, Kira. I felt that animation would be the best way to depict this sense of strangeness through mysterious shapes, enigmatic and vibrant colors, as well as a backdrop of cosmic and psychedelic proportions. The result is a hybrid of stop-motion, claymation, and puppet animation. Where I set myself the goal of not relying on artificial intelligence. “In Other Corners of Creation” is my first major experimental project, featuring an ethereal soundtrack. In my writing, I like to subtly incorporate elements through dialogue or camera work that might go unnoticed. That’s why I believe this animated short will be open to interpretation. Likewise, it gradually unravels the truth behind this fantasy world, just like the original story. Only Kira, as the omniscient narrator. Between her love for nature and her curiosity about the universe, debating humanity’s role in the midst of it all. It was challenging to capture the full depth of the story in a production that fit within my resources, time, and experience. In the end, I’m proud to have reached the finish line. I hope you enjoy it.
