If you like Locke, you'll LOVE Den skyldige (The Guilty)
If you love a tense thriller with a tight script, awesome acting, and a single location, I have not one but TWO great movies for you.
Locke is about a man driving to London
The Guilty is about a 911 operator fielding a call.
Both their lives will never be the same
I swear I’m not just lumping these together for the aesthetic similarities. They both closely follow one man in a single location in a real time whose conversations happen primarily over the phone.
BUT
It’s the way that the movies make you feel that made me draw this parallel. Both are very taught stories full of anxiety and moral ambiguity. The way you feel about the characters will evolve as the movie goes on and will leave you asking questions about your own moral compass and begging to know what happens next.
Note: The Guilty also has an American remake released in 2021, but I implore you to start with the original!
