RUMOR:
The finale of *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* is going to be very dramatic; at some point during the third act, Peter will die and acquire the symbiote in order to be reborn.

They still haven't decided which post-credits scene to use, so as to avoid spoiling *Avengers: Doomsday*.

In other news, the rumors have ceased, and fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of Spider-Man. We will bring you more news soon.

The Origin of Spider-Man

Spider-Man was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962.

Spider-Man is a comic book character who served as the original "every-man" superhero. In Spider-Man's debut story—featured in Marvel Comics' *Amazing Fantasy* No. 15 (1962)—the American teenager Peter Parker, a poor and sickly orphan, is bitten by a radioactive spider. As a result of the bite, he acquires superhuman strength, speed, and agility, as well as the ability to cling to walls. Writer Stan Lee and illustrator Steve Ditko created Spider-Man as a filler story for a canceled anthology series.

Origins and Development in Comics

Spider-Man represented a radical departure from established comic book superhero conventions: he was a teenage character who was not relegated to the role of sidekick to an older, more experienced hero.

Hehehe... an accident, right?

However, Marvel publisher Martin Goodman was not initially receptive to the idea of a teenage hero starring in the story, nor did he want to accept Spider-Man's neuroses, romantic struggles, and constant financial worries. Goodman also believed that the character's arachnid motif would repel audiences. Fortunately, Lee's instincts prevailed. Spider-Man's debut in *Amazing Fantasy* was an immediate and resounding success.

How did the idea arise that Tobey Maguire plays Peter Parker?

From the beginning, Spider-Man's behavior deviated significantly from prevailing superhero norms. Instead of selflessly dedicating his superhuman gifts to fighting crime or the general welfare of humanity, the newly empowered Spider-Man capitalizes on his talents by becoming a television celebrity. Following his first on-screen appearance, he refuses to stop a thief from stealing the television studio's box office takings. Spider-Man's world abruptly collapses a few days later when a thief murders his uncle, Ben Parker, leaving Peter's Aunt May a widow and now his only surviving guardian.

Tobey Maguire landed the role of Spider-Man (2002) thanks to the insistence of director Sam Raimi, who saw in him the ideal vulnerability for Peter Parker. Although the studio preferred an action star, an intense physical screen test and his ability to convey nobility convinced the producers.

Sam Raimi's Vision: After seeing Maguire in *The Cider House Rules*, Raimi knew he was the right choice for the role, as he was looking for someone who could convey the character's shyness and empathy.

Overcoming studio doubts: Sony and Columbia Pictures initially sought a more conventional action actor, considering names such as Leonardo DiCaprio or Heath Ledger.

Spider-Man in the Modern Era

As the 1970s progressed, Spider-Man's adventures expanded with a fourth regular comic series—a monthly publication aimed at Spidey's general audience—titled *Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man* (later abbreviated to *The Spectacular Spider-Man*), which debuted in December 1976 and ran for 263 issues.

*Spider-Man*, released in August 1990, featured the writing and artwork of Todd McFarland, whose striking Rococo-ques style drew unprecedented fan attention to the character. Particularly notable were the detailed depictions of Ditko-style poses and the elaborate, braided webs shooting from Spidey's web-shooters.v

Spider-Man in Film and on Stage

But just how much does it affect us—visual effects, CGI? Or AI? Or even 3D?

The momentum Spidey gained in the pages of comic books was also reflected in Hollywood. After resolving a series of legal issues that had previously hindered production, Sony brought *Spider-Man* to the big screen in May 2002, with Tobey Maguire as the masked superhero and Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane. The film was critically acclaimed and grossed over $800 million worldwide. *Spider-Man 2* (2004) and *Spider-Man 3* (2007) proved to be just as successful.

Director Sam Raimi, who helmet the original trilogy, stepped down after the third film. So, what happened next? Well, this is when Spider-Man was rebooted with a new story line—*The Amazing Spider-Man*—starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. It gave Gwen Stacy a significant character arc... but didn't she die in the comics? No—in the comics, it is M.J. who dies or disappears at the hands of the Green Goblin. (My apologies if I’m mistaken!)
