War Machine Is Like Predator But With Robots
General ReviewsWar Machine is the latest Netflix Original Movie directed and written by Patrick Hughes and stars Alan Ritchson, Dennis Quaid, Jai Courtney and Esri Morales
The story follows a Special Ops soldier in training who must fight for survival against a mysterious, deadly, and potentially alien robotic force.

It‘s Predator But With Machines Instead
War Machine uses giant machines as the main antagonist, it‘s basically following the same storyline as any Predator movie, but with visuals of modern technology. Patrick Hughes directs this story that isn‘t trying nothing new, but knows what kind of lane is at.
It‘s designed to be a film that could be easily from the 80s, but this was a remake of some kind. The film uses gritty stunts, minimal dialogue and scenes that are conceived to watch on the big sscreen, instead of a streaming platform.

It‘s a Popcorn Movie
Meanwhile, the story is floating and is asking to build a world around them. Alan Ritchson not only brings his phsyical body front and center, his character is full of regrets and sorrow and Ritchson give a good performance as a Soldier letting go of his past and trying to make admens in the future, while trying to work with his team, listen and focus as a leader should do.
War Machine opens right out of the bat, introducing the characters and then all hell breaks loose, and the script doesn‘t waste time into getting in the action, it goes beyond like that. War Machine also uses his location to the maximum potential, a rural part of Australia was used for the entirety of the film, and they make it worth. It‘s a gorgeous cinematography.

Don‘t Expect Too Much
There are some weaker parts in the movie, there‘s some that it was straight out formulaic, but it‘s a very short movie. And given the realism of the situation, the soldiers aren‘t perfect, they were still in training, and the film never gives them a transition that suddenly they are perfect.
The secondary characters are mostly useless, and the film drags too long by the last 30 minutes, but other than that.
War Machine is a great comfort Saturday Night movie, that could have been perfect in theaters, but at least they gave us thrilling sequences, action, and Alan Ritchson flexing his dramatic chops.
It‘s on Netflix
