The Wrecking Crew Is A Funny Dumb Movie

The Wrecking Crew is the latest film by Angel Manuel Soto and stars Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa, following the estranged half-brothers, an impulsive detective and a disciplined Navy SEAL, who reunite in Hawaii to investigate their father's murder. They uncover a conspiracy involving local criminals and corrupt officials, forcing them to reconcile their past.

It‘s a Dumb-Fun Movie

The film doesn‘t rely in intelligence to deliver something good, it‘s dumb enough to make you worth your time. The Wrecking Crew uses Bautista and Momoa in a way that is genius, because this two actors are great together, delivering an inspiring chemistry.

Has some action sequences that even Vin Diesel is watching like “What the hell?“. They are kind dumb, but that‘s the point with this Prime Video Original Movies.

The Comedy is Gold

“What‘s up with Uncle Fester?“ is one of my favorite lines of the movie. Angel Manuel Soto‘s direction is consistent, it delivers the laughs, while he doesn‘t overstep in having a great frame, or camera angles, he knows what kind of movie is it, and delivers the spectacle, and seriously this movie deserved at least a week in the theaters. It‘s a blast watching the banter between the actors, and how their situations rapidly goes sideways.

The humour added in the script helps to smooth things and with Momoa‘s comedic timing is almost perfect.

Dumb story, Fun Times

The script doesn‘t scream “Hey, I need an Oscar“, it screams “Don‘t watch this on your phone“. And even the story doesn‘t make sense by the second act, the movie grips into what is doing best. Delivering insane action sequences, fun dialogue, good performances and deliver a fun movie in the processs.

Hawaii as the setting, and even including Momoa‘s favorite restaurant, Zippy‘s is a true homage to Hawaiian people.

Conclusion

The Wrecking Crew is not looking for awards, for logical sense, this is a movie that is looking for the audience to have a blast, recite the most funny lines, and then forget it within a week after watching it.

The Wrecking Crew is currently streaming on Prime Video.
