Good Movie, Good Fortune

Information & Fun

A trailer comes on the TV screen, funny, fascinating and familiar faces. Everything I need for a good movie. I pick a movie time and lock in for the experience. I’m a huge movie enthusiast, I have a routine that i must do for each viewing. Pick a movie and a seat,  row B or C to get a close up view, popcorn, pop with no ice and one candy of my choice…same as always though. I like to be early enough that the screen is black. I’ll wait for however long it takes to come on with the pre-preview or pre pre viewing. I’ll answer the questions, watch the trailers and enjoy every second of it. It has to be Cineplex not Landmark and only down side to Cineplex is paper straws…unfortunately. I’ll stay through the whole movie and think of reviews after. Some movies are great and others not so much.

This movie had a clear message, the actors felt familiar, the humour was on point and most of all the plot was excellent. Now, as a regular movie regular, I find myself open to any movie as long as it’s enjoyable. When I went into this one, it started off slow but because I thought it should of started out fast paced. As the movie continues, I realize that I set myself up with expectations and thought that the trailer may have been a bad idea. I rely on trailers a lot when it comes to deciding what to watch, if it’s a great movie but bad trailer movie, I un unfortunately don’t sign up to watch it. I’ve learned that it’s really bad to think this way because so many movies and shows to land the advertising some times. As a viewer, it’s my expectation that affects the experience. With a new thought process, we can enjoy more than what we thought was possible. The next time you decide on a movie or show, give it a chance first. Take the experience and maybe you’ll be happy you did, the worst thing that can happen, the movie or show isn’t for you but at least you gave it a try. You never know what you’ll find out there.
