MOVIES I HAVE WATCHED PART TWO (JUNE - AUGUST)

General Reviews

HELLO!!!

HOW ARE YOU DOING?

I HOPE YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!!!

Well, today I am going to make a list of movies I saw both in the cinema and via livestream!!!

LET'S ROLL!!

(By the way, it will be in the order of when I watched it. Or what I remember!!!)

JUNE

1. Ballerina

Via: Cinema

Rate: 8.5/10

I LOVE BALLET, AND JOHN WICK!!!! Ana De Armas ate it being some kind of John Wick's legacy carrier. I can't wait to see more about her.

2. Megan 2.0

Via: Cinema

Rate: 6/10

“Are we watching a technological Anabelle or an Spy Kids look alike movie?” That's what I said while watching it.

3. How to Train Your Dragon (3D!!!)

Via: Cinema

Rate 10/10

I LOVE IT!!!!!  I watched two times, and the first one was on 3D. It was a wonderful experience, and in both times it felt like when I saw the animated version for the first time as a child.

4. Elio

Via: Cinema

Rate: 6/10

To be honest, I don't remember when I watched it. But I could see Disney tried to make indirectly a film about autism, and child wonder. As a treated autistic woman, I saw Elio's journey as nostalgic representation of our creativity and wisdom. There are a lot of cliches but I am not mad, the movie was good but it could be better. I am glad it didn't meant to be a direct stereotypical portray, unlike Sia's film: Music.

5. K Pop: Demon Hunters

Via: Netflix

Rate: 8.5/10

Not the movie of the year. But it was a great story, although it's not my cup of tea anymore. But I love the songs and the animation.

JULY

1. Trainwreck: Astroworld Tragedy

Via: Netflix

Rate 10/10

I… I have no words… If I have a nickle every time I cried while watching a movie about artists and music industry on this year, I'd have three nickels ("I'm Tim", “Better Man”, and this one.) Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened three times.

2. 28 years later

Via: Cinema

Rate 10/10

I will admit it, ignoring the n4k3d zombies this one and the F1 movie are my favorites!!!! The sh00ting sequences reminded me zombie apocalypse videogame sh0otings, the cinematography is beautiful to be filmed with a phone, and the messages are heartwarming to be an apocalypse movie.

3. F1 the movie

Via: Cinema

Rate 10/10

In no time, this one became one of my favorites of the year. Especially because a year ago, I was introduced to the whole philosophy: the protocol, the rules, techniques, tools, and history. Something I'm very grateful for. I never thought they'd make a movie soon after.

4. Chespirito: Not Really on Purpose

Via: HBO MAX

Rate: 7.5/10

This isn't a movie, but as a Mexican I wanted to share about the series about Roberto Gomez Bolano aka Chespirito, one of the most important Latin filmmakers from 20th century (To give you an idea, he was like the Mexican Stan Lee). Some parts were nostalgic, in others a little exaggerated like Bohemian Rhapsody. But what stood out the most was the darkest secret revelation about him.

AUGUST

1. Superman

Via: Cinema

Rate: 9/10

I have no words to say… I will miss Snyder's Superman and Henry Cavill, but this film remembered me who Superman really was: A hero who wants to make the world s better place.

Thank you, James Gunn!!

2. The Fantastic 4

Via: Cinema

Rate: 9/10

With this one, I realized that real superheroes are back! Saving the world, defeating villains with not an excess of violence nor of power of love, and showing the most valuable life lessons, is what superhero characters were really made

THAT'S IT FOR NOW!!!! I wish I could go to the cinema or watch films in Platforms now but I have to accostume to my new schedule…. BUT I HAVE FAITH I  WILL MAKE ASAP!!!!

THANKS FOR READING

Hey thanks for sharing! I'd love to see a bit more in depth analysis or critics on these movies though? you could make a series every week of new movies you watched 2-3 and write like couple paragraphs about what you thought of it and why. I would love to read those!
