Fountain of Youth: Apple TV+ needs to STOP making this Movies
General ReviewsThe newest release of Apple TV+, Fountain of Youth directed by Guy Ritchie and stars John Krasinski, Natalie Portman, Laz Alonso, Domhnall Gleeson and Eiza González is now on the platform and - oh boy!

The story follows Luke Purdue, a wanted archeologist and Charlotte Purdue, a museum curator, who their worlds reunite when they are in the pursuit to discover the Fountain of Youth. Their journey is financed by Owen Carver, a corporate millionaire dying man, as their journey begins, they travel across the world in search of this urban legend
Let‘s be real. I started to watch this movie and I could see some of those signatures stylish filmmaking skills from Guy Ritchie, but as the movie went on, everything felt disconnected and a lot of ideas scrambled into one. One of the most important aspects is the impressive cinematography, scope and set designs, they went around the world to film this movie and it shows. It‘s like National Treasure but with higher budget and a thin storyline. The chemistry between Portman and Krasinski is believable, offering the viewers some of the best scenes in the film, but sadly, that doesn‘t inspire to continue watching.

There‘s no development between the characters, we don‘t have who to root for, because we barely know them and even though, the performances are commited enough, it‘s not sufficient to bring the storyline to the audience in a way that feel connected to.
The tone is so inconsistent, because it can be a higher action global movie and then it becomes a comedy light hearted family film and Guy Ritchie‘s voice got lost at the beginning of the second act and everything fall flat until the credits rolled.
Beyond that, Fountain of Youth doesn‘t evolve the genre or improves it, it just become a cheap entry into the Apple TV+ catalogue and I don‘t think Guy Ritchie needs to downgrade his career like that.
