JimsuaMarch 22, 2024
JimsuaMarch 22, 2024Ranked among the top ten LGBTQ+ television dramas. Each season typically unfolds with murder cases in reverse chronological order, interspersed with numerous subplots. What I love most is how my emotions are stirred with every choices the characters choose - you can see shadows of yourself in every decision they make. Like the conversation between Patrick and Iván on the lawn in the fifth episode, where you can't choose the perfect person who is within reach just because of their gender.

Diego LukaNovember 3, 2023Well...season 6 seems to be the worst season so far. It's obvious that the scriptwriters either got complacent with their writings or are out of ideas. The once compelling, suspense laden opening cuts no longer pack the same punch, they feel rather stale now. My most hated male lead is gone, but I'm not particularly fond of the remaining characters anyway. The only character worth watching for me now is Patrick. I gotta mention that I started to skip some of the scenes in Season 6 now.

belongs2November 3, 2023
belongs2November 3, 2023I’m pissed. When Season 4 and 5 were being rated poorly, I still gave them high scores myself because I loved them. But Season 6 is just plain bad. There were too many sub-plots being crammed in, such as the hate crime against the LGBT community, the self-struggles within the transgender community, the discussion on PUA, and the sexual assault in the main storyline. This show, after all, was not produced to be a truthful depiction of reality. The final outcome is neither profound in the discussion of the subject matter, nor coherent in storytelling. I have to say I'm no longer interested in watching Season 7.

Chris-KnippNovember 3, 2023I think this is how they came up with the plot for season 6: First, type in a few keywords - toxic relationship, nightclubs, party, sex, crime, death, girls help girls, LGBT. Next, use AI to generate a script, and then go to town with that. (The Blanco siblings might mark the doom of the Carvalhos)

goocathyNovember 3, 2023Season 5 has been absolutely ruined to smithereens! The previous seasons were still kinda enjoyable because of all the brainless fun alongside the ridiculous plots. But Season 5 is pure stupidity. I miss the first three seasons so much. I kinda wish Samuel would just die, and that would be a relief for both the character and the actor himself. Omar, Rebeka and Caye, you’d better run away together because this show is going to leave a stain in your careers if it continues like this! It's just parties and nothing else, that's not what the so-called sexual fluidity is about!

The scriptwriters have finally had a grasp on what the audience wants to see by Season 5. Yes, we're here for Manu, and the more screentime he gets, the better. The duet of father and son that he's paired with is okay, too. It looks like the writers love him enough to not have put him in any misery. The other couples are just in for the same old drama. The good news is that the male lead has been appearing less and he's becoming a bit more likable. To my surprise, Cayetana, who I hated the most, has successfully became a little innocent angel in this season.

MclovinNovember 3, 2023
MclovinNovember 3, 2023I'm already at season 4, and it feels like the series is going downhill. The suspense is gone. The plot is getting way too ahead of itself, with no regards to whether a sound conclusion can be reached eventually. It's all but a brainless dopamine inducing experience now. Frankly, this season is bad, and I would’ve given it a 6 if it didn't try to push the boundaries like season 1 did. My favourite characters in this series either died or have disappeared from the show. I really miss the countess and Paul from season 1!!!! And I hate Samuel so much!

happyladNovember 3, 2023
happyladNovember 3, 2023I must be crazy to watch two seasons in a row and season 2 was a real let down. The plot was weirdly convoluted. The relationships between characters were unnecessarily complicated because everyone seemed to be somehow related to one another. The storyline driven by the characters' undetermined motives is so illogical that sometimes it can't even make sense of itself. The success of the first two seasons shows that real life can sometimes be outrageously absurd in certain hypothetical situations. But fate is like a set of dominos and someone like Polo could probably never be stopped.

Season 3 is a complete disaster. It's totally unwatchable. Parties seemed to be the only subject matter the writers could write about. The story and characters are horrible. Not only had Polo not gotten vengeant, he became even weaker and eventually dies terribly. He's not even that bad of a character. I'm speechless. Ander is terminally ill and Omar cheats on him. Guzmán gets so dumb. Samuel continues to be a troublemaker. Carla is having a tough time despite being such a strong and beautiful character. Luckily she manages to find her true self in the end. Nadia and Lu made peace, Rebeka is going off tangent from the main plot. Yeray and Malick? Totally unnecessary characters. The ending tries so hard to show the characters mending their relationships and that's extremely cringy.

Cantinho do DoramaNovember 3, 2023
Cantinho do DoramaNovember 3, 2023Watched it in one sitting. I suppose they are more truthful in facing the hypocritical and ugly side of life while I'm more used to hiding my feelings. Season 2 as a whole is somewhat weaker than season 1, but it does get better later on. Maybe it's because the writers sympathized with these kids. There aren't really any real antagonists. The flaws in these characters are totally relatable to us audience. The biggest highlight is Ander's effortless demeanour that oozes elegance and intelligence.

davidehectorNovember 3, 2023Would give it a negative rating if I could. I knew it's bad, but for some reason I couldn't stop myself from watching it. To be absolutely terrible in every aspect possible has always been the name of this series. Calling it a show that touches on the subject of mental health among teenagers, yet it has a story chock full of twisted and perverted aesthetics and mentalities of the nouveau riche. Ivan doesn’t even try to put on an act anymore after Patrick is gone, and the viewers can’t even sympathize anymore. I think the writers and the director of the show might need some type of therapy.

Season 7 is much better than the god-awful season 6. It has outrageous moments throughout but overall, a rather uneventful season. The only cliffhanger is the identity of the deceased. More screentime was dedicated to portraying the teenagers' mental issues, which is a much better focus than the vague story of the last season. The story involving the parents was well concluded as well. The innocent Ivan had a rough time and Omar is still annoying. The new character, Joel, is kinda charming, but it's hard to get over his indecisiveness. Isadora absolutely slays. Sonia is always clear-headed. Rosio has stayed true to herself. Nico has saved others, and Eric has mended his ways. So that's all good. Season 8 is coming to an end, so I'm looking forward to seeing what's gonna happen next.
