Supernatural (2005)★ 8.5/10

Supernatural was the first series I watched late at night; it was quite nostalgic watching those monsters being slain by the Winchester brothers on Sundays.

It was one of my favorite series, but looking back now I realize that the series was only really good up to season 5; after that it declined and completely nonsensical monsters started appearing.

If I had to think of a single show that had 15 season s, great actors and amazing story telling, I’d only have one word…Supernatural!

Unlike the 'revisionist' style of The Haunting of Hill House, Supernatural retains an old-school charm with its episodic case-by-case format, quick pacing, and suspenseful mysteries which keep things intriguing.

It's quite average until the suspense ramps up in the final episode. Honestly, the first twenty episodes were pretty dull.

this was always so good. could have ended a few seasons before, but you cannot stop loving the characters, for real.

Throughout its 15-year run, this show has created some great characters but ultimately didn't handle them as well as it could have. Some of the ideas were truly outstanding, but they just weren't executed well. Even though they brought back many old characters to play on our nostalgia, it still couldn't mask the emptiness at the core of the series. Honestly, I wasn't really satisfied with the final season, but I'm grateful that it finally came to an end.

The special effects are as low-budget and terrible as ever, and the plot patterns are, as always, predictable. There's never any real sense of danger or death in the "Supernatural" universe. When compared to similar horror shows from the past two years, it's clear that "Supernatural" doesn't quite measure up. Instead, it's a show that depends heavily on the charm of its actors and the passion of its fanbase.

A lot of years later, here I am watching the first season of Supernatural. And I already love it. I like this kind of show in which they introduce a new villain each episode, while there’s still the huge plot of the season. It ended in an awesome cliffhanger and I’m starting season 2 right after finishing this review.

Great part of loving Supernatural is becoming attached to the Winchester, after all, there are 15 seasons and you won’t like all of the episodes. I think what drove me to the last episode was the feeling of being part of their family, through every up and down. The finale was epic and was worth the ride.

Meet these two brothers in charge of fighting the darkest entities that can be found in our world. A legendary TV series with one of the most interesting narrative arcs.
