món_tizáNovember 11, 2023The battlefield is merciless and gruesome, but the intricate and treacherous politics behind it are equally terrifying. This film can be considered a prelude to “Dunkirk”, and Gary Oldman's performance is surprisingly outstanding. The scene on the tube can be rather evocative in a certain way.

CAN_DE_LÁ_RIANovember 11, 20239 out of 10. It’s a prequel to “Dunkirk". Most of the scenes took place indoors, and the cramped spaces intensified the oppressive and tense feelings. It also added to the urgency of the confrontational and volatile situations depicted in the show. Winston Churchill came into power during a time of internal and external turmoil, with everyone acting out of self-interest. He stood out as a resilient, tough old guy with a character, amidst the treacherous war of politics.

maiconf_83November 11, 2023Profound, powerful, concise, and fun. Just a few settings in which rounds of speeches, arguments, and debates take place. Solid techniques, and perfectly fitting music. This is a competent film in all regards. Gary Oldman delivered an epic performance. He is truly the backbone of this movie.

IsaacIsaacNovember 11, 2023Despite the lack of originality in the story, I still love this movie because I strongly admire all the charismatic heroes and their courage to fight against all odds. The relentless pursuit of challenges is indispensable despite the eternal limitations of fate. I'm already filled with excitement as the story begins. From Churchill's perspective, he has been longing for this position since infancy, and finally, it arrives at the darkest hour. He is not afraid at all, and only concerned that time is running out. For the next five years, this old alcoholic enduring the weight of the world on his shoulders goes from fighting alone to despairing, and then finally manages to inspire his wife, the king, the public, the parliament, and everyone else to stand by his side. Such a story will never go out of style, and I sincerely hope similar moments of finding light in the darkest times can be realized in everyone's lives.

Chris-KnippNovember 11, 2023Same as expected. Not a single trace of error, but also not a hint of surprise or deviation. It's correct to the point of boring. Everyone is talking about the acting, and yes, the acting is excellent, but apart from that, the film doesn't offer much. Personally, I’ve got no interest in films like this.

Ohh movieNovember 11, 2023
Ohh movieNovember 11, 2023The resurrection of method acting, the use of classically elegant lighting, the seamless integration with “Dunkirk", and the emotional patriotism of the times. "Never!" The people's voices replace bureaucratic judgment, revealing the light and truth in the fog of history. This is an "ordinary man" rising to the pinnacle of power amidst domestic turmoil and foreign aggression, one who is strikingly authentic amid contradictions. History takes a turn here, as he, with clarity and courage, refuses to make deals with the devil, but fails by making compromises with the devil.

PixneyWandererNovember 11, 20237 out of 10. Gary Oldman's performance is truly exceptional. Throughout the film, I couldn't even connect this character with Gary Oldman himself. It's not Oldman, it's Churchill. Utterly brilliant. Overall, it's a typical Oscar-style biopic with solid execution. Joe Wright's direction is still masterful, and the cinematography is awe-inspiring as usual, capturing the essence of the "Darkest Hour." When it needs to be intense, it truly is, and the ending has a touch of inspirational fervor.

Ele realmente é a espinha dorsal deste filme.

Margarida-777September 12, 2024
