Angie_EllisJuly 14, 2025The director turned a real-life case into a work of art. Against the backdrop of a kidnapping, the film explores the starkly different worldviews of a billionaire and ordinary people. In the story, J. Paul Getty’s ultimate goal is to weigh his gains and losses. The choices between money and family become a magnifying glass on human nature—it’s absolutely captivating. The nine days of intense reshoots really showcase the exceptional talent of both the director and the actors.

Chantel_RossJuly 14, 2025After watching the film, I couldn’t help but sigh—poverty really limits your imagination, but when rich people turn cold, it’s truly astonishing. I thought Ridley Scott shouldn’t have reshot those scenes; a character as despicable as Getty should’ve been played by Kevin Spacey. That would have been so much more satisfying for the audience.
