Dan_PughJuly 21, 2024This film exudes warmth, sweetness, and joy, making "magical" the perfect word to describe it. The visuals are stunning, particularly the scene where Wonka and the little girl float into the sky with balloons, which is enchantingly uplifting. The music is nostalgically beautiful, adding to the film's charm.

Andrew_BrayJuly 21, 2024Timothée Chalamet delivers a performance that fits the character well, and the musical numbers are well-executed. However, the screenplay is too juvenile, with a one-dimensional villain and the protagonists getting their revenge all too easily. The heartwarming elements aren't all that heartwarming either. The film's greatest strength is its art, beautiful costumes, and sets. The whimsical chocolate factory has strong fairy-tale vibes.

Jeremy_BlandMay 24, 2024This movie surprisingly captures the spirit of early Disney films, satirizing materialism while celebrating dreams, courage, and emotions. Undoubtedly, this movie is refreshingly simple to understand, and it brings back a sense of purity and innocence that I've been craving, given the overwhelming number of films burdened with distractions in today's industry.

GONÇALO2go0May 24, 2024Timothée Chalamet is absolutely perfect for this role! This movie humorously portrays the power of capitalism. To overcome struggles, the underdog needs resilience and a sharp mind. It's an incredibly inspirational story that is definitely worth watching.

NewAnonymousApril 25, 2024The plot is quite childish, and the happy ending is clichéd. The dance and costume design in the movie wasn't executed well, and the chocolate story lacked sweetness and surprises, which was truly disappointing. Timothée Chalamet was completely miscast as Wonka, as his acting felt stiff and his musical performance wasn't great. I thought he had some acting talent, but his performance in this movie was a major letdown.

Alexa_WashingtonApril 25, 2024The main character, Wonka, is a chocolate factory owner and a genius filled with dreams and creativity. His quirky personality and bold innovations really leave a lasting impression. The director and the actors did a fantastic job bringing such a mysterious and fascinating character to life.

CookieBrightApril 25, 2024Honestly, I don't really care about how faithful it is to the original or how it compares to other versions. Right now, all I care about is the movie I'm watching. The setup and development are okay, the visuals are pretty, and the music is enjoyable. It didn't feel like a tedious two-hour experience, but it didn't fully captivate me, either. I'd say it's just alright.

Ayla_HorneApril 25, 2024There's quite a significant difference compared to the original version, and the forced fairytale ending was a bit of a letdown. The character development also seemed inconsistent. Transforming the original story into a musical added enchantment and glamour, but the quality of the songs in this movie could have been better as they weren't particularly catchy. It falls into the category of being decent while watching but forgettable once it's over. Despite its flaws, the dreamy scenes in the movie are still visually stunning and evoke my nostalgic memories.

El_CineApril 25, 2024Wow, Timothée Chalamet is absolutely perfect for the role of Wonka! His innocent demeanor, unwavering determination to make a wish, imaginative thinking despite being illiterate, and ability to pull off tricks even in dangerous situations—all of these traits, along with Timothée Chalamet's bright eyes—really bring the character of Wonka to life! I really need a movie like this in my mundane life, which seems impossible yet still holds onto belief.

Alcides330March 9, 2024
Alcides330March 9, 2024Recently, I had the chance to watch this movie, and I have to say, it left me with mixed feelings. I'll admit, fantasy films, especially musical ones, aren't really my thing, and this one didn't change my mind. Right from the start, I struggled with the pacing of the film. The story felt like it was dragging on, and I just couldn't get into it. Maybe my lack of enthusiasm for fantasy, especially with musical elements, made it hard for me to connect with the movie. One thing that really let me down was the CGI. To me, the visual effects seemed pretty average at best, and they didn't create the immersive experience I was hoping for. The CGI just felt underwhelming and didn't meet the standards I expect from modern cinema. But hey, I know everyone's taste in movies is different, and for those who enjoy fantastical musicals, this movie might be right up their alley. Unfortunately, it didn't leave a positive impression on me.

Mariana_3123March 2, 2024Joyous, whimsical fun!!!!!!!! Fans of the Paddington Bear, this is for you! I laughed, and I cried... Though I thought the fat suit stuff was extremely unnecessary in 2023. But, aside from that glaring flaw, there's so much heart to the story. I love musicals. Olivia Colman slayed ofc.

ArnoRatingsMarch 2, 2024It’s so charming! It doesn't take a lot to win me over, but I really loved how much Timothée Chalamet really seemed to put his heart and soul into the character. I consider the whole thing one fantastic musical even when there are parts where the songs weren’t playing.
