Hereditary (2018)★ 7.5/10

Probably all the highlights are edited into the trailer. The film basically drags on for the first hour and gradually resorts to cult film clichés for the second hour. The plot lacks logical consistency and the narrative pace isn't tight enough, which makes the foreshadowed suspense fall apart at the end. The actors are great, but the story really isn't that good. If a film is interpreted in great detail by the audience but you don't feel engaged while watching, it means that there’s something wrong with the narrative; you can't just write a poor script and expect the audience to imagine the logic and the plot, right?

It's really evil and gave me goosebumps. I can truly feel how a family is gradually driven to despair and collapse by both the trauma of tragedy and the power of the supernatural. The fear conveyed in the movie is actually effective, but it ultimately depends on whether or not the audience is invested in the audio-visual atmosphere and the emotions of the characters, which is much more brilliant than simply scaring them. The director's "malice" towards family relationships has changed from the ethical breakdown in the previous short film to the fatalistic blood curse in this one. In a way, "family" will always be a horror movie for me.

A family whose grandmother has just died, the mother is a sleepwalker and the children a bit strange, out of the ordinary things begin to happen to them, such as visions and so on. The mother is a designer of miniatures, and I love how she mixes the vision of these miniatures with the real scenes of the house in a very cool metaphor. The tension is constantly felt, even when nothing is happening, without the need for the easy scare. A slow horror film that moves in the same register as 'The Witch' and that is of great quality. Fantastic performance from the entire cast, especially Toni Collette.

Esse filme é o verdadeiro ensaio sobre a morte, a dor, o medo e outra coisas que nos atormentam em algum momento da vida. Tornado esse filme bem emocionalmente e impactante.

Um Filme com um roteiro perfeito, todos os atos com uma exelente atuações e uma fotografia de cair o queixo. Hereditário é o melhor filme de terror.

¡La mejor película de terror que he visto! Una película que escapa de todos esos clichés del cine de terror, te atrapa de principio a fin y necesita mucha atención para entenderla. Para aquellos a los que no les gustan las películas complejas, puede convertirse en una película aburrida y monótona.

«Hereditary» logra utilizar el terror psicológico con gran maestría, combinando suspense y drama con una técnica excelente y un buen guion, algo poco común en las películas de terror últimamente. La película va más allá; consigue apropiarse del término «terror» en un sentido más amplio, porque realmente asusta y aterroriza, no con sustos repentinos ni música a todo volumen, sino con un terror que sacude gradualmente al espectador a nivel psicológico.

Clásico instantáneo de terror folclórico con actuación excepcional y una excelente manera de mostrar algo que no puede y al vez puede perfectamente ser real, incita a la reflexión del surrealismo al la crudeza de la realidad y viceversa con un buen ritmo y una fuera carga emocional desarrollada con primor en cada personaje.

La gran variedad de temas que abarca, los abarca con sutileza y maestría, llegando a ser petrificante cuando se requiere.

En el cine hay una regla de oro llamada "Show don't tell", las emociones al percibir un buen trabajo cumpliéndola marcan directamente qué tan bien se ejecuta, y este es un gran ejemplo en su género.

Puede ser un poco complicada, al punto que solo un vídeo me ató todos los cabos, pero logra perturbar muy bien.

Lo paranormal normal. es el tipo de historia que trata de loco a un personaje que ve las cosas que pasan, pero lo fuerte es como parte de esa locura se transpira en la sangre del espectador

lo inesperado y el misticismo se entrelazan en un estrecho y lujurioso beso con el final que me dejó teniendo pesadillas con el trato de lo oscuro
