The Croods: A New Age (2020)★ 7.0/10

"The Croods" is packed with humor from start to finish, making it arguably the funniest film on the big screen this year! The 3D effects are fantastic, and the vibrant colors rival those of "Rio." I imagine even my three-year-old son would find it uproariously funny, which speaks to the universal appeal of this Hollywood animation.

While "The Croods" follows a highly formulaic storyline reminiscent of at least three other animated films, it still manages to entertain. Set against a journey backdrop with family at its core, the movie explores the generational divide between conservatives and progressives. The film's strengths lie in its family-friendly characters who consistently engage in conflicts and provide heartwarming resolutions. Additionally, the fast pace and lush, Eden-like colors enhance its overall appeal.

So, the sequel kinda keeps a few of the same elements from the first flick—ya know, showers, flushing toilets, and all that jazz. But that whole fun and easy-breezy vibe from the original? Yeah, it's mostly MIA this time around. Sure, there are still some glimpses of it, but overall, it feels kinda forced. I was super pumped to check it out, but it didn't deliver as many surprises as I was hoping for. They were aiming for this deep, meaningful theme, but honestly, the storytelling felt a bit scattered and didn't quite hit the mark. It left me feeling a tad disappointed, if I'm being real.

The sound effects are awesome, the colors really pop, and the visuals totally pull you in. The whole audiovisual experience is seriously impressive, highlighting all the little details in the story and giving the movie this deep, captivating vibe. The story is filled with warmth and joy, making it impossible not to kick back and get totally wrapped up in it.

Wow! That was awesome. I was so pumped after watching it. It's super high-energy, funny, and cool. The crazy imagination, non-stop excitement, and vibrant colors are just so amazing. It's a total blast. The audiovisual experience you get from this one is seriously top-notch.

I love animations because they always can do more of them without the cast giving up of it hahaha Croods was one of the best ones of the decade, I’m very happy this sequel is real.

I think studios should know better and stop doing animations just because. They are always doing these weird sequels that simply don’t work. The worst part is that the Croods are a great family and they had a lot of potential, but it was a waste of time.
